Our Process is Peculiar to our Purpose!
So, I was on my way home from work with two of my girlfriends.
One thing led to another as in girls talk then, Temi, one of my girls was like –
“Ruth, don’t even say that, you can’t compare what I have been through to yours”.
My voice attacked and drowned hers with “See Temi oooo, don’t
even go there, what I have gone through can never be compared with yours”. I
think I went on to add…… “Is it because its not showing on my face”.
In my head, I was getting ready to punch her with the
question – “have you lost 3 family members in 4 years” even though I knew she
had lost her Mum at a very tender age. I was consumed with the thought that I had
gone through more fire than her because I had lost my Mum, Dad and an Elder
brother to the cold hands of death under five years.
Well, we got over our argument and branched into other gist
as we went home together with our “my process is more superior” locked in our
hearts.
Fast forward to when I got home, I had forgotten that I had
any convo with anyone regarding “superior process” if I may call it that and
trust the whisper of the Holiest Buddy – “Your process is peculiar to you, do
not compete or compare”. Woow!!!! Gbam!!!!
You see, a lot of times we get consumed with the thought – “wetin
she don see self”. Girl!!! What she has seen might be small compared to yours
but would have killed you if it came to you. Roll your eyes all you want, but
that’s the honest truth! LOL
It is not about SIZE but DESIGN. If Rice spent the duration
that Beans spent on the fire, it would be messy and inedible and if Beans
spent the time that Rice spent on fire, it would still taste uncooked. Remember
that both are food for the body.
Sometimes, we feel that someone hasn’t been through enough
fire to qualify them as vessels unto honour. Imagine that Naaman told the
little slave girl in 2 Kings 5 that her eyes hasn’t seen enough Wars, Blood,
Copped-Off-Heads, Pains, Battles and Adversities to advise a War Lord who
conquered Kingdoms and Territories but his Leprous curse.
COMPETING and COMPARING processes has robbed us of a lot of
Kingdom Partnerships that would have unleashed chains of generational
anointing, power and blessings.
The whole talk about “She be small girl, na wetin she fit
teach me” has left a lot of us in the bondage of our “leprosy” because our
Channel of Blessing is seen to be in “bondage” themselves or “inexperienced” at life’s
adventure or fire compared to us.
I would wrap up this way – “We should always remember that, nobody’s process or fire is more superior than the other. We are all chains and
connections of God’s FIRE”.
