REST!!!

 

  Happy New Year Ladies #hugsanddance. Wooooow!!!!!! It's not just a new year but, the end of a decade and the beginning of another. Thank You Jesus!

  Hope your holiday was fun packed cos mine was. No I wasn't engaged during the holiday but I ensured I had a ball without allowing the various engagement pictures and videos popping up to dilute my JOY. Been real Sis 😉

   So, 2019 is gone even though we had a lot of expectations that didn't manifest but hey! I see beautiful you reading this blog post and what that means is that, You are ALIVE. Yes girl!

   What that also means is that God is not through with you yet so, high five cos we gonna rock 2020.......

  One significant lesson that I learnt in 2019 is that - "Growth is a Journey". We might not have achieved or attained where we wanted in 2019 but, we made progress towards it and if that dream is still in our heart, it means that, it's on God's heart so girl - REST.

  This new year's Eve was amazing as I had to go to church - high five church girls lol- We had Communion Service before the Cross Over Service.

   Your girl had to fast cos I needed to unpack and be light enough to get fortified for 2020. Funny enough, fasting on New Year's Eve was my Mum's tradition. She loved Jesus even more intense when she was ill. Am yet to see anyone love Jesus the way Mama did. God bless her soul!

  So, breaking my fast with my girls at 6pm in church plus in-between we got into the real talk zone, some of us were anxious, afraid, worried and not excited for 2020. There was mixed feelings not knowing what to expect.

   You know after having expected wins of 2019 as -

• More Money
• Not spending Valentine Alone
• Getting that dream Job
• Buying that Car or House
• Moving out for a better space control
• Getting that Degree.
• Eating Healthy.
• Been Celibate.
• Been more Organised and Goal Inclined. 
• Been Less Selfish and More Accommodating.
• Making Investments
• Saving More.
• Spending more time with Jesus. 
• And the biggest of them goals for 2019 - Leaving the Singles club lol

      It takes someone who is really brave and courageous to look forward to a new year or season and dream again after been a little bit or hugely disappointed. 

Take my yoke.....and you will find REST for your soul. 

                                      

     Now, the truth is, we can never feel better or worse about ourselves more than God - "Since He did not spare even His own Son but gave him up for us all, won't he also give us everything else?" - Roman 8vs32.

  

   In-between our real talk, I slipped in that I was really excited and looking forward to what 2020 has wrapped not because I have everything figured out but, God has everything figured out hence - I REST.

   Rest doesn't mean am just lounging throughout 2020, it means that, my battles, wars, fears, worries, dreams, goals, strengths, weaknesses, anxieties, expectations, agendas, resolutions, doubts, wins, setbacks, silent seasons, etc are totally submitted to God as I enjoy His Peace and cruise to achieve His agenda for me in 2020.

    II Chronicles 14vs6 made me understand what REST means especially the part that says "During those peaceful years, he( King Asa) was able to build up the fortified towns throughout Judah...... For the Lord was giving him REST from his enemies. 

  Rest doesn't mean the absence of enemies ( anything that is against you either abstract or tangible, is an enemy) or a time and season to be lazy- NO. It means a season to give the weight of our goals and all distractions to God so that we can explore His Grace and Speed to Succeed. 

   Eventually, the bug of Hope, Faith and Excitement bit us and here we are in 2020 as we "see as far as our eyes can see" while we give the yoke of what we SEE to God and REST. 

So, REST girl God is got yah!
